The Rev Miriam Bowlby

As Director of Church Engagement at United Property Resource Corporation, Miriam Bowlby works with congregations in making faithful and prudent property decisions to support the long term vitality of the congregation. Miriam is an ordained minister in The United Church of Canada where she has served rural and urban congregations in Newfoundland and Labrador. As a member of the leadership team at Cochrane Street United Church in St. John’s, Miriam played an integral role in developing and implementing a plan to convert an historic church buildings into community space and 15 units of housing. Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University in Halifax and a Master of Divinity degree from Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto. In 2020, Miriam was part of the first graduating class of Memorial University’s MBA program in social enterprise and entrepreneurship. Committed to ongoing learning, Miriam is a trained Educational Supervisor and Godly Play Story Teller. She has completed numerous courses in communication and conflict management. In 2024, Miriam started an Interdisciplinary PhD program focusing on adaptive reuse of church property. Outside of work, Miriam is an active community volunteer and enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their loveable dog, Oreo.
