Queen’s College is the oldest degree granting institution in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador with a history reaching back to 1841. Queen’s College is a separate educational institution from Memorial University that still grants its own degrees and diplomas. Queen’s is also not to be confused with Queen’s University in Ontario, though it often is.

Queen’s College is an affiliated College of Memorial University. Our facilities are on the Memorial campus. This relationship enables the College to share many of the University’s resources. Students registered at Queen’s College and members of Faculty have access to the University library, and other common facilities or services normally made available to Memorial University students or Faculty. Some of our Adjunct Faculty also teach at Memorial, especially in the Department of Religion and Culture.

Queen’s is pleased to partner with Memorial University, especially the Department of Religion and Culture and other Humanities Departments on conferences, symposiums, and educational events. In recent years we have partnered on the following events:

2023 – Radical Im/Possibilities: Theology, Religion, and AI (featuring Dr. John Caputo)

2025 – Exploring Ways of Knowing in the More-Than-Human World (featuring Dr. Karla Jessen Williamson)

2026 – Safeguarding and the Mission of the Church: Ethics, Responsibility, and Care (Also partnered with The Pathways Foundation and featuring the Rev. Dr. Hans Zollner, SJ)
